At Oswego Lake Country Club, we strive to create an environment that is relaxing, yet worthy of our reputation as a premier private and family Club facility. With golf as the central offering of our Club, Members and guests are expected to observe the rules of golf and to practice proper golf course etiquette at all times. Guest Play policy
Full Golfing Members are entitled to have three guests on any one day when guests are
allowed. A resident of the Portland Metropolitan Area may not play as a guest more than once
each month. Check the Golf Schedule for other guest limitations. The Head Golf
Professional, or General Manager, must approve groups consisting of more than 3
guests in advance.
Dress Code
Proper attire while at Oswego Lake Country Club is not only important in the Clubhouse, but also on the golf course and surrounding areas of the Club.
Clubhouse Dress Code
Men - Permitted
- Business attire, business casual and denim.
- Sleeved golf or sport shirts with collar, tucked in at all times.
- Shirts with tailored bottoms designed to be worn out.
- Hoodies intended for golf.
- Joggers intended for golf.
- Golf Slacks or golf shorts of appropriate length.
- Denim free from rips, holes or exposure. For some events, denim may not be allowed and will be communicated within the promotional materials.
Men - Not Permitted
- Hats and visors in the Clubhouse dining areas.
- Tee shirts, muscle shirts, sleeveless shirts, tennis or swim apparel.
- “Cut offs” or denim with rips, holes or exposure.
- Short shorts.
Women - Permitted
- Sleeveless shirts with a collar or collarless shirts with a sleeve.
- Shirts designed to be worn out (untucked.)
- Hoodies intended for golf.
- Golf skirts, dresses and shorts of appropriate length.
- Golf leggings in solid and matte colors.
- Joggers intended for golf.
- Denim free from rips, holes or exposure. For some events, denim may not be allowed and will be communicated within the promotional materials.
- Hats and visors in the Clubhouse dining areas.
Women - not permitted
- “Cut offs” or denim with rips, holes or exposure.
- Short skirts or shorts.
- Tennis or swim apparel, jogging suits, athletic gear.
Terraces (Outdoor Dining) Dress Code
- When dining on the terrace before and after swimming, a proper cover-up is required.
Swimming Pool Dress Code
- Swimsuits are to be worn poolside and in the pool locker rooms only. Please use the lower parking lots for entering or exiting the pool area. Swimming attire and cover-ups are not allowed in the Clubhouse.
Golf Course & Practice Facilities Dress Code
Men - Permitted
- Sleeved golf, sport shirts with collar or blade/mock collar, tucked in at all times.
- Hoodies intended for golf.
- Golf slacks or golf shorts of appropriate length.
- Joggers intended for golf.
- Caps, hats and visors must be worn with the bill facing forwards.
Men - Not Permitted
- Tee shirts, muscle shirts, sleeveless shirts, tennis or swim apparel.
- Golf shirts untucked.
- Denim on the course or practice areas.
- Short shorts.
- Backward hats.
Women - Permitted
- Sleeveless shirts with a collar or collarless shirts with a sleeve.
- Golf hoodies intended for golf.
- Shirts designed to be worn out (untucked.)
- Golf skirts, dresses and shorts of appropriate length.
- Joggers intended for golf.
- Golf leggings in solid and matte colors.
Women - Not Permitted
- Denim on the course or practice areas.
- Short skirts or shorts.
- Tennis or swim apparel.
Pace of Play
All players are expected to abide by the following:
- Complete their round in four hours.
- Always keep up with the group ahead.
- Play “ready golf.”
- Wave the following group through if for any reason there is more than one open hole in front of your group.
Course Stewardship
By acknowledging our ‘maintenance’ role, Members and guests will show respect for the course and ensure good and fair conditions for all players.
- Repair all ball marks.
- Replace and repair all divots.
- Rake all bunkers & tap sand from shoes before stepping on the green.
- Strictly observe cart rules and signs.
Mobile Devices
The use of a cellular phone, smart phones, electronic tablet, or other electronic device in its audio mode is not permitted in any area of the Clubhouse, Golf Shop, or practice areas. Audio mode for electronic devices is permitted on the golf course. Even in areas where audio mode is allowed, the spirit of our policy is that no one should ever hear a phone ring or hear another Member’s phone conversation or music.
